Pawtucket Public Library project completed

Lundco Painting had the privilege to take part in the historic restoration of the Pawtucket Public Library in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.  The project took just about 2 months to complete.  It was a unique project in many ways for Lundco.  We had to encapsulate each section of the library as we progressed.  The encapsulation of each section was to protect the public using the library from any lead hazards.  After each section was completed, they were tested for lead and then cleared.

The main atrium of the library, the old enterance, was the most time consuming section.  All four sides needed to be closed off with draping plastic.  A scaffolding tower was built to reach the 40 foot ceiling.  The water damaged plastered walls had to virtually be replaced in some areas.  Lundco went as far as to enter the eves of the historic building from the roof to clean all of the ceiling windows.

All totaled there were 5 major sections completed.  The job ran smoothly and each section passed it's lead inspection on it's first try thanks to the efforts of Lundco's lead licensed professional employees.

Save $ Money & Always Have a Home that Looks New

Our approach to exterior painting is quite simple; Make it look exquisite and make it last a very long time.

Most homeowners don't realize that paint deterioration starts the next day after anyone finishes painting.  However, the good news is paint deterioration typically isn't noticeable for several years. But paint failure begins to accelerate as time goes by.  The declining rate is actually more like a parabolic curve or a line that is bending downward, meaning that the paint is fine for several years, but once it begins to noticeably fail, the failure process speeds up tremendously. While the exterior paint looks great in years 1, 2, 3, and 4, by year 5 or 6, it is starting to perform poorly. If you wait too long, your costs to repaint go up considerably, i.e., more removal of failing paint needed, more sanding, more patching, even wood replacement and priming add to the cost. In year 5 or 6, you generally will see the color changes that most people notice, and by year 7 or 8, it just looks totally unacceptable.

To always have your home look new and avoid large repainting costs, plan to paint just the southern exposed and/or open grain wood in three to four years from the last completion date, and realizea dramatic cost savings.  Typically, spending only 10% to 15% of your original painting costs in year 3 will greatly extend the life of your exterior paint. This will make your entire house look new. Successful businesses understand this concept and budget accordingly.   It actually saves money while keeping everything looking tiptop. At the end of your project, we will identify any future areas that may need additional attention in three years and provide you with a complete proposal.

Using the Lundco Painting System that we've developed over the last 25 years has proven results.  It always starts by taking the time needed to thoroughly and properly prepare the surfaces, adhering to national standards, using fully trained and uniformed employees to apply higher-quality materials.  We are able to push the paint deterioration out by several years and offer much longer warranties.
